Corinthian:
This is a pillar that once was part of a shrine to the god Pan, in a place called Banias. There are several styles of columns, and this one (as you may have guessed) is called Corinthian, very stylized and decorated, suitable for religious places.
One thing thats odd about historical locations in other countries is how open they are. If this was in in the states, it would be under glass, or at least have a fence around it. If I had wanted to, I could have stood on top of this one. It was just standing out in the middle of the area, no boundaries around it. I never quite got used to that.
